Match Report: AC Milan V AS Roma – 5th February 2025
On 6 February 2025 by GillyowlSemi Final of the Coppa Italia.
AC Milan celebrated a commanding 3-1 win over AS Roma at the San Siro in the Coppa Italia, but it was hard not to admire the spirited effort from our beloved Giallorossi. While Tammy Abraham shone particularly bright with two goals against his former side, it was João Félix’s dream debut for Milan that caught the eye.
The match kicked off with both teams showcasing their star-studded lineups, and although Milan had Kyle Walker starting, Roma’s talented trio of Paulo Dybala, Leandro Paredes, and Mats Hummels made sure to remind everyone of their prowess following a recent draw against Napoli. We may not have come out on top this time, but the passion and skill of our players continue to shine through!
Abraham started the scoring with a stunning looping header, seizing on a rebound from Tijjani Reijnders’ impressive long-range shot. Just before halftime, the English striker struck again, skillfully evading the offside trap and sliding the ball past the keeper with finesse. It was a fantastic display, leaving me wondering why we let him go?
The second half of this match saw the Roma side spark to life, as Artem Dovbyk cleverly slotted a goal, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough. The new faces on Milan’s squad truly made their mark, especially debutant Santiago Gimenez, who provided an incredible assist that João Félix expertly finished off, securing the win for the Rossoneri.
