Match Report: AS Roma v Atalanta– 5th September 2026

AS Roma 2 – 1 Atalanta
What a night at the Olimpico! Roma came from 1–0 down to beat Atalanta 2–1 with two late goals, ending that frustrating nine-game winless run against them and keeping us top of Serie A and unbeaten.
Roma dominated from the start, creating chance after chance, but Marco Carnesecchi was having a brilliant game in the Atalanta goal. Mancini, Cristante, Mora, Dybala and Wesley all came close, while Ndicka even had a goal ruled out for offside.
Then, just 90 seconds into the second half, Atalanta hit us on the break and Éderson fired them ahead. Somehow, despite Roma continuing to pile on the pressure, the ball just wouldn’t go in. Castro hit the post, Soulé was denied and Carnesecchi made save after save.
But Roma never gave up.
In the 90th minute, Mario Hermoso rose highest from a Soulé corner to finally beat Carnesecchi and make it 1–1. Then, deep into stoppage time, Dybala found Soulé, who fired home at the near post to complete an incredible comeback.
The numbers tell the story — 35 shots, 11 on target, and eventually two goals when it mattered most.
Not our first frustrating night this season, but what a way to finish it. Top of the table, still unbeaten, and finally getting one over Atalanta.
Daje Roma! Forza Giallorossi! 💛❤️
