Match Report: Sassuolo V AS Roma- 26th October 2025

On 27 October 2025 by Gillyowl

Sassuolo 0 – 1 AS Roma

💛❤️ La Joya Lifts Roma Back to the Top! ❤️💛

Finally! Roma are back where they belong — right at the top! Paulo Dybala’s first Serie A goal of the season sealed a precious 1–0 win over Sassuolo, and it felt so good to see the Giallorossi playing with heart, grit, and that little touch of magic we’d been missing.

After a tough few weeks — three defeats in four and that disappointing Europa League loss to Viktoria Plzen — this was exactly the response we needed. You could feel the determination from the first whistle. Angelino was the only one missing, Dybala led the line, and Leon Bailey got his first start. Sassuolo arrived full of confidence after a good run, but Roma simply didn’t let them breathe.

The visitors started aggressively, but Mile Svilar was sharp as ever, keeping out a deflected Fadera shot. Then came the breakthrough — pure Dybala brilliance. Cristante burst forward after a clever lay-off, forced a save, and La Joya was there, pouncing on the rebound like a predator. One touch, calm finish, back of the net. 1–0 Roma. The Olimpico erupted. Goosebumps!

From then on, Roma were in control. Dybala was running the show, spreading passes, finding pockets, tormenting defenders. Cristante and Koné were everywhere — fighting for every ball like it meant everything (because it did!). Bailey, poor guy, even had his boot ripped apart by a Sassuolo foul and had to finish the half with duct tape wrapped around it — proper warrior stuff.

Sassuolo started to lose their heads. Romagna limped off, Hermoso came on and got booked within a minute, and then Berardi had to go off after a clumsy collision. Meanwhile, Roma just kept pressing. Celik forced a sharp save from Muric, and when Pellegrini came on, the tempo shot up another level. Within two minutes, he was this close to scoring — his delicate chip beat the keeper but bounced off the post. You could almost hear the whole stadium groan.

Wesley was buzzing late on, testing Muric again and again, and almost curling one into the far corner. It was just one of those games where you knew Roma had it under control — even when Sassuolo tried to threaten at the end. Mancini threw himself in front of a Cheddira shot like a man possessed, and Muric had to stretch full length to stop Pellegrini’s curler in stoppage time.

When the final whistle blew, it was pure joy. A proper team performance — full of fight, focus, and flair.

Dybala back on the scoresheet, Pellegrini nearly joining him, the defence rock solid, and the fans singing loud into the night. That’s our Roma.

Top of the table, joint with Napoli — but make no mistake: this team’s got the heart to go further.

Forza Roma. Sempre. 💛❤️
