Cremonese 1-3 AS Roma
The Giallorossi marched on in their quest to finally bring the Scudetto home again, powering to a confident 3–1 win over Cremonese at the Stadio Giovanni Zini. With five wins in the last six league meetings, the Giallorossi once again showed why they deserve their place at the top of the table.
Roma did get an early scare, but even that only highlighted Mile Svilar’s growing status as a fan favourite, as he pulled off a sharp stop to deny Federico Bonazzoli. And once the danger passed, it was all about Roma’s quality.
Matías Soulé, who is quickly becoming one of the brightest sparks in the league, opened the scoring with a gorgeous strike from the edge of the area — the kind of finish only a true Giallorosso gem produces. A fourth league goal, and another reminder that Roma’s future is in very safe hands.
Lorenzo Pellegrini thought he’d doubled the lead moments later, pouncing on a parry and slotting home with typical captain’s instinct. Even though it was ruled out for offside, the move showed just how easily Roma could carve Cremonese open.
Svilar continued his brilliant afternoon, producing two rapid-fire saves to deny Vandeputte, while Audero had to stretch to keep out a Pellegrini effort at the other end. Roma were pushing, confident, and in control.
Just before the interval, Roma received a stroke of justice as the referee overturned a soft penalty awarded to Cremonese — a decision that surely had the entire Romanisti world breathing again.
Adrenaline was already high, and it spilled over in the second half when Gian Piero Gasperini was sent off for dissent. Watching from the stands didn’t slow him down one bit, though — he had the perfect vantage point to enjoy Roma’s two lightning-quick goals that sealed the contest.
Evan Ferguson, back from injury and hungry as ever, calmly tucked home his first Serie A goal after Roma kept the pressure alive in the box, leaving Audero helpless.
Moments later, the electric Wesley burst through onto a beautifully weighted ball from El Shaarawy and delightfully lifted it over the keeper — a finish full of flair, speed, and pure Roma joy.
Cremonese grabbed a late consolation that cost Roma a clean sheet, and Ferguson was denied a second by the tightest of calls, but none of that spoiled the bigger picture. Hopefully, after having such a good second half Ferguson will be given a chance of starting next weekend against Napoli.
Roma looked strong, confident, and absolutely worthy of a team chasing the Scudetto.
Another step toward that long-awaited title… and the Giallorossi are showing they’re ready for it.
