Match Report: AS Roma V Napoli- 30th November 2025

AS Roma 0-1 Napoli
Napoli may have snatched a 1–0 win at the Olimpico, climbing joint-top of Serie A, but Roma showed plenty of heart on a night that could easily have swung our way with just a little more luck. David Neres’ first-half finish was the difference, yet it took Napoli’s best spell of the match to break through one of Serie A’s meanest defences of the season.
Coming into the evening ahead of Napoli after our strongest 12-game start since 2017/18, the Giallorossi were hungry to reclaim top spot—especially after Milan’s win the day before. And although Napoli pushed early, with Svilar once again proving why he’s becoming a fan favourite by shutting down both Højlund and Noa Lang, Roma carved out chances of their own. Ferguson twice found himself in promising positions, reminding everyone that this side can create danger at will.
Napoli’s goal arrived in the 36th minute after a swift counter, but even then Roma never looked beaten. As the second half began, the Olimpico roared the team forward, knowing that five of our seven home league goals this season had come after the break. Gasperini responded by unleashing Dybala, El Aynaoui and El Shaarawy—an attacking trio that instantly lifted the energy and belief inside the stadium.
Roma dominated possession late on, camped in Napoli’s half, and pushed the visitors deeper and deeper. The moment almost came at the death: Tommaso Baldanzi drilled a low effort that Milinković-Savić somehow managed to keep out. It was the kind of save that decides tight games.
In the end, Napoli held on, but there was nothing in this match that suggested Roma can’t reclaim top spot again. The spirit, the chances, the fight—this team is very much in the Scudetto conversation. And with the Olimpico behind them, Roma will be ready to bounce straight back.
Sempre Forza Roma.
