Match Report – Pisa V AS Roma – 30th August2025

On 31 August 2025 by Gillyowl

Pisa 0 – 1 AS Roma

Matias Soulé – our new little jewel – struck again, this time finishing off a move carved open by none other than Paulo Dybala, as Roma marched into Pisa and came away with another priceless three points.

Make no mistake, Pisa were up for it. Their first Serie A home match in over 30 years had the stadium bouncing, and they threw everything at us early on. Mile Svilar had to stretch to claw Henrik Meister’s header away and then scrambled on the line like a cat – pure brilliance to keep us level. Pisa huffed and puffed, but Roma, as always, stayed calm.

In truth, we were missing some big guns. Leon Bailey didn’t make the trip, and neither Dybala nor Pellegrini were fully fit. But this is the beauty of this Roma side – there’s always another hero ready to step up.

When La Joya came on for the second half, you could feel the shift. He glided inside, slipped it into Ferguson with his back to goal, and in one movement the ball was rolling to Soulé, who swept it into the net like he’d been wearing the shirt for years. A proper Giallorosso goal: team play, class, and a ruthless finish.

Soulé nearly had a brace moments later – bundling it in after his own header ricocheted – but the ref ruled a handball. Harsh, but nothing was going to deny him his moment. Pisa had their shots, but most flew wide, and Svilar looked unshakable.

Then, right at the death, we should’ve killed it off. Manu Koné bulldozed his way through midfield and squared for Artem Dovbyk – it looked a certain goal – only for Semper to throw himself in the way. Still, it didn’t matter. The final whistle blew and the Curva Sud in the away end exploded.

Another 1-0. Another statement. Another step forward. Roma aren’t just winning – we’re learning how to suffer together, how to defend as one, and how to strike when it counts. Nights like this are how seasons are built.

Forza Roma, sempre.
